Bir Hakeim Apartments

The perfect area for a romantic getaway in the capital

A stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower, the Bir-Hakeim district offers an unobstructed view of the famous Iron Lady. The Bir-Hakeim district is situated on Paris's right bank, not far from the Eiffel Tower. It is bordered by the districts of Passy to the north and Grenelle to the south. This relatively quiet residential district comes to life as you get near the Eiffel Tower. The atmosphere made of business people and tourists is rather international and laid back.

The lovers' district

Its proximity to the Eiffel Tower makes the district a very romantic location. Couples like to walk in the Trocadéro gardens or on the Champs de Mars. The many river boats on the right bank of the Seine offer romantic trips or sunset dinners on board. The Pont Bir-Hakeim, a bridge that is famous for its modern architecture, has been the site of several film sets, including the series Dexter, the movie National Treasure - Book of Secrets, and, more recently, Inception.

A green and steel landscape

The Pont Bir-Hakeim, with its metallic structure, has two separate levels, for cars and pedestrians (on the top) and a viaduct used by the metro. A bicycle path has even been created on the pedestrian part. It is also a very popular place for watching the July 14th fireworks in front of the Eiffel Tower. There are stairs in the middle of the bridge for climbing down to the Île aux Cygnes. This artificial picturesque island full of greenery is over half a mile long and 36 feet wide and has a charming tree-lined promenade.

An open air station

The Bir-Hakeim district is served by an overland station by the same name through which metro line 6 runs. This is the closest station to the Eiffel Tower. As it is both a business district and a residential district, you will easily find local businesses (grocery stores, bakeries, convenience stores, etc.) and restaurants. If you want to visit the Bir-Hakeim district during your stay in Paris, take a look at our selection of furnished Paris rental apartments.
