Luxury shopping in this area of Paris

Rue de la Pompe's name comes from the history of the geographic area. A pump designed to supply the Château de la Muette with water was installed there in 1730, at a time when it was nothing more than a mere path. Shopping enthusiasts will not be disappointed with this street, which has one of the largest outlets in Paris specializing in luxury clothing. The establishment is at 89 to 101 Rue de la Pompe, and has brands such as Givenchy, Versace, and Kenzo.

History around every corner

Rue de la Pompe was originally a very important historical route as in the 18th century, it ran alongside the famous Château de la Muette. The route ended at one of the gates to the Bois de Boulogne. One of the famous buildings that can still be admired on Rue de la Pompe is the Lycée Janson de Sailly. Commissioned by Alexandre Emmanuel François Janson de Sailly It is now one of the most reputable educational establishments in the Paris area and offers preparatory courses for several of the Grandes Écoles.

Public transportation within close reach

You can get to Rue de la Pompe using one of two metro stations: Rue de la Pompe and La Muette. The RER also serves the Henri Martin and Boulainvilliers stations a few hundred yards away. In addition, two Vélib' bicycle rental stations have been installed close by making this area very accessible through the city.
