Faubourg St Martin Apartments

A place do develop theater’s culture

Faubourg Saint-Martin – part city, part countryside, is one of the capital's best-served neighborhoods. Halfway between central Paris and La Villette, the district is popular for short stays in the capital! Various cultures and traditions meet here, with the Indian corner on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis and the African quarter on Boulevard de Strasbourg.

A working class, bohemian neighborhood

It links Porte de Saint-Martin, La Villette, and the Cité des Sciences. A chance to treat your senses and your taste buds! The residential area is particularly popular for its accessibility and its proximity to central Paris. It is a quiet area where families can find many places to enjoy themselves: the nearby Canal Saint-Martin, Parc de la Villette, and Buttes-Chaumont. The 59-foot triumphal arch, erected in 1674, overlooks central Paris. Boulevard de Magenta, with its many businesses, is perfect for some afternoon shopping.

An area dedicated to boulevard theater

It is on this now legendary stage that many French actors experienced their first moments of glory! Faubourg Saint-Martin bring in crowds and artists. In the 1980s, the little theater Le Splendid attracted audiences with the famous Le Splendid troupe. In keeping with the neighborhood's artistic and bohemian spirit, the Couvent des Récollets, a convent built between the 17th and 18th centuries, was devoted to art and foreign writing. The Eldorado movie theater, a former music hall, as well as the Porte de Saint-Martin arch, are now both listed as historical monuments.

A district with 6 metro stations and 7 lines

Rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin has 6 stations: Strasbourg-Saint-Denis (lines 4, 8, and 9), Château d'Eau (line 4), Gare de l'Est (lines 4, 5, and 7), Château-Landon (line 7), Louis Blanc (lines 7 and 7bis) and Stalingrad (lines 2, 5, and 7). The district is also close to the Gare de l'Est and Gare du Nord stations. Everything you need is within easy reach.
