Concorde Apartments

Concorde: a touristy district with a rich history

Situated at the bottom of the Champs-Élysées, the Concorde district is a historic symbol. As the largest square in Paris, Place de la Concorde attracts thousands of visitors every day. It is the perfect place for a stay in the heart of French history. It is situated at the intersection of Paris's main roads.

When a place shine of the Renaissance architecture

The Obélisque du Louxor stands in the center, in perfect alignment with the Louvre pyramid, the Jardin des Tuileries, the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe. Standing 75 feet high, it originally came from the ruins of the Temple of Ramses II. Previously known as Place de la Révolution, Place de la Concorde has witnessed some terrible tragedies. For many years, thieves and crooks were guillotined in the center of the square, before large crowds of people. This was the fate of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette during the Revolution.

A square with much to offer

Place de la Concorde, constructed in the shape of an octagon, has two monumental fountains, symbols of French naval genius. It is surrounded by statues, erected in honor of other French cities. At night, the lights bounce off the monuments to give a truly romantic spectacle. Around the Obelisk, you can admire the large Haussmann-style mansions. Some have even kept the first Parisian numbers dating back to 1805! Not far from Rue Royale and the famous Place Vendôme, the Concorde district forms part of Paris's golden triangle, a symbol of French sophistication.

A tourist-oriented district

The Concorde district is accessible from Concorde station, served by metro lines 1, 8, and 12. As it is a stylish area with few residents, there are not many local businesses. However, you only need to get away from the square to find convenience stores, bars, bakeries, and more.
