A gateway to France and Europe

The Gare de l'Est, formerly the Gare de Strasbourg, offers connections to eastern France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Its architecture is truly representative of Paris's first railroad constructions in the middle of the 19th century. The Gare du Nord is the departure point for the Eurostar to London, and also provides connections to Amsterdam, Brussels, Liège, and even Cologne.

An example of neoclassical architecture

Built in a very dense urban environment, it is a perfect example of neoclassical architecture. Its Roman-inspired facade is structured around a triumphal arch, which adds to the majesty of the establishment. It has 23 statues made by eminent sculptors, representing the main destinations that can be reached from the station. Just a few streets from the Opéra district, the Grands Boulevards, and even the Canal Saint-Martin, the Gare de l'Est/Gare du Nord district has a lot to offer.

A transit center

With its two train stations, the district has very good connections. Lines 4 and 5 of the metro and the RER B and D stop at the Gare du Nord station. Only lines 4, 5, and 7 of the metro stop at the Gare de l'Est station. The Gare du Nord/Gare de l'Est district has a wide range of local businesses to meet the needs of people passing through.
