Beautiful real estate in a leafy setting

Situated in the east, right near Boulevard Poniatowski and Boulevard Soult, the Porte Dorée district starts at the end of Avenue Daumesnil and extends as far as the edge of Saint-Mandé. The district is primarily residential with a lot of houses, although it also has squares and green spaces. Ideally located next to the Bois de Vincennes, Porte Dorée has many facilities. The Porte Dorée district is at its liveliest in April and May. The famous Foire Du Trône carnival comes to Reuilly every year and attracts high numbers of tourists.

History of the colonies and immigration in Porte Dorée

In the early 1930s, the Porte Dorée district welcomed the great colonial exhibition. The Musée des Colonies therefore took up residence within the Palais de la Porte Dorée itself until the 1970s. Unfortunately, the ethnographic collections and the aquarium were moved to the Musée du Quai Branly when the palace closed. The only thing that remains from this era is the giant gilt bronze statue of the goddess Athena, which measures more than 30 feet high. Situated on the reconstruction of the zone, the statue was moved to Place Edouard-Renard where it can still be seen and admired.

Easy access to the Bois de Vincennes

The Porte Dorée district provides easy access to the adjacent Bois de Vincennes, as well as the inner Boulevard Périphérique. In addition, the district has good public transportation connections, as the area is served by 3 bus lines and line 8 of the metro at Porte Dorée station. In addition to being a very popular destination, the Porte Dorée district is easy to find seasonal rentals in the area.
