École Militaire/Unesco: a stylish district at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The École Militaire/Unesco district is a stylish district famous for its architectural masterpieces – perfect for relaxing away from the hubbub of Paris. An affluent area where people come to relax The École Militaire/Unesco district is in the prestigious area between the Trocadéro and Avenue de Breteuil, famous for its gardens. A stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower, it occupies a central position in Paris. It is the home to embassies, ministries, and the headquarters of several French political parties. These beautiful neighborhoods of the capital are exclusively home to wealthy families. The price per square foot is one of the highest in all of Paris! The École Militaire is an 18th century architectural masterpiece. The castle and the courtyard still bear historical scars, like the mark left by a bullet in the mirror of the Salon des Maréchaux. The building also hides a chapel, concealed inside the castle itself, a library, and a bust room. The headquarters of Unesco stands next to the École Militaire. Nicknamed the "three-pointed star,” the main building is supported by 72 columns of concrete piling. Next door, two other contemporary-looking establishments have been added to the landscape: one in the shape of an accordion and the other in the form of a cube. A picturesque, authentic district The buildings of the École Militaire and Unesco form a vast complex to the southeast of the Champs de Mars, opposite the Eiffel Tower. These two stunning masterpieces are open to the public. In terms of things to do, the district has a charming little independent movie theater on Rue de Babylone: "La Pagode." The lovely garden is a great place to sit and have a cup of tea after the showing. Every Thursday and Saturday, Avenue de Saxe hosts a street market where independent craftsmen and producers gather. You can buy fresh produce with an international flavor. Further north, Rue Vaneau used to be the spot for artists, poets, philosophers, and writers, drawn by the peaceful atmosphere. An exclusive residential district The district is accessible via the École Militaire (line 8), Ségur (line 10), and Saint-François-Xavier (line 13) metro stations. On Rue Breteuil there are several cafés, florists, hair salons, and local businesses.
